Swamp Hunters
The Taylor Clan

D'Roy Taylor
D'Roy Taylor is the leader of the Taylor clan, a relic hunting historian, and as tough a man as ever lived in the Honey Island swamp that borders Louisiana and Mississippi (one of many tales about D'Roy's legendary toughness is how he plucked out all his own teeth, with nothing but a sharpened stick and a bottle of whiskey to assist him, because he had a toothache and didn't cotton to the idea of spending money all his life on dentists). D'Roy was born on the Mississippi Swamps and knows them better than virtually anyone else in the area; he's also appointed himself the keeper of legends and lore from the area that come with the life he's led there. D'Roy is a Vietnam veteran and a bricklayer by trade, but relic hunting is his passion. D'Roy continually schools all his sons and nephews in the ways of the swamp, including how to develop one's 'swamp eye': a way of looking through the swamp, not just at it. He also famously cannot tolerate rudeness in a man and prides himself on having raised all the boys in his family to be gentlemen.

Dustin Taylor
Dustin is a self proclaimed, self taught, Redneck Archeologist. Dustin was raised in the construction trade by his father, but just like his father, his real passion is relic hunting. He's also dabbled in all kinds of schemes to bring in money, buying and selling antiques, and even storage containers. As a kid, Dustin spent every spare moment at the library studying the history of the deep south and scouring through resource materials to plot where he might find hidden treasures left behind by pirates, robber barons, Indians and soldiers. Dustin doesn't have much patience for weekend warriors who come around 'his' swamps relic hunting for fun and messing with his potential finds. Dustin is a tough, profane, loud, and serious man of action. Dustin loves to be in the thick of it, finding valuable relics and selling them for lots of money! There isn't anything Dustin won't do to get what he wants. Whether that's hunting relics, winning a family squabble, or a dustup with rival relic hunters.

James Taylor
James is Dustin's bigger cousin; although they're so close they refer to each other as brothers. James too dabbles in buying and selling anything that will turn a profit, whether it's storage, scrap metal, or relics. If Dustin is a doer and a man of action, James is a thinker and someone who'd rather be sitting in the AC, letting his fingers do the walking online as he plans missions and sells relics. As such, James is the technology expert and navigator of the Taylor Clan, charged with translating D'Roy's legends and Dustin's instincts into hard facts they can all hunt on. Give James a tall tale and he'll squeeze the truth out of it. James is also a sweet-tempered, deeply religious man who doesn't care for cussing, drinking, and gambling (at least the kind of gambling done down in the casinos in Biloxi).

Big Al Taylor
Big Al is Dustin's little brother, D'Roy's youngest child, the newbie to relic hunting, and the low man on the totem pole. Big Al was brought into the construction trades at a very young age, and specializes in driving big machinery and trucks. There was a lot of work in this part of the country in the wake of post Katrina reconstruction, but most of that has dried up in the last few years and so Big Al has come home to do some relic hunting with the family. Big Al's not afraid of hard work, but he's a bit of a klutz, a prankster, and he's a little afraid of darkened spaces (he and Dustin both swear to have seen the dreaded Honey Island Swamp Monster, close up and personal).

Bobo and Kacey Taylor
Bobo and Kacey are brothers, Taylor cousins, and the muscle on the team. Both of them, Kacey in particular, are renowned in the area for their prowess with their fists, and one legendary story has Kacey essentially taking on an entire bar full of family enemies, and walking out the victor; battered and bloodied, but still the last man standing. If you want a job done right, you call Bobo and Kacey. Just make sure there's a 12 pack waiting for them at the end of the work day and everything will be alright.
