Located north of Ocean City, MD Dewey Beach, DE is a perfect destination for nearly anyone who loves the surf, the sand, the sun and the sea. About two and a half hours from both Philadelphia and Washington, DC, Dewey Beach is home to numerous restaurants and nightclubs, both quiet and raucous. It's a terrific destination for families. The town is about one mile long and three blocks wide. Visitors stay in motels or small rental cottages. The town was named after George Dewey, an admiral in the Spanish-American War.
