American author Ambrose Bierce is best known for "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and "The Devils Dictionary." In October, 1913, the Civil War veteran departed Washington, D.C. for a tour of his old battlefields. He eventually entered revolutionary Mexico and joined Pancho Villas army as an observer. He wrote his last letter from Chihuahua on December, 26 1913 and was never heard from again.
