  • Ballistics - The science of the motion of projectiles.
  • Caliber - The diameter of the bore of a rifled firearm, usually expressed in hundreths of an inch.
  • Evidence - Anything that has been used, left, removed, altered, or contaminated during the commission of a crime.
  • Questioned Documents - Any object that contains handwritten or typewritten markings whose source or authenticity are not known, but which is still relevant to the outcome of a legal proceeding.
  • Trace Evidence - Material deposited at a crime scene that can only be detected through a deliberate processing procedure.
