Born in Big Springs, TX, first-generation roughneck Ron has 15 years of experience in the oilfield, having been broken out by Morning Tour driller Pete James. At first, Ron's family was worried about him getting killed, but he has been doing it so long now they are more comfortable with it. He has never had any accidents while working on the rig, and neither has his crew. Ron got into the oil business because he loves to work outdoors and because of the opportunity that Pete gave him. He runs a tight ship and doesn't hesitate to get on his crew for slacking off. Ron has been with his girlfriend for two years. He has four step-children and eight grandchildren.
Brandon was born in Rankin, TX, and now lives in Midland. He has been working in the oil fields for about eight years, four spent with Big Dog. Brandon has had a couple serious injuries while working on the rig. He got his front teeth knocked out during a job and has had his fingers smashed. He is a bit of a hot head with a short fuse. He tries to size people up by being confrontational at first and then getting to know them. When not on the rig, Brandon enjoys working out and playing golf, not to mention he says, "drinking beer and chasing women."
Josh was born in Midland, TX, and started roughnecking at the age of 18. He comes from a long line of roughnecks, and they expect him to follow that same path. By the time he was 19, he had already achieved status as a driller, a very young age for that job. Josh has broken his arm and a collar bone while on the job. He has known floorhand Travis Venerable since they were in fifth grade and broke him out in the business. Nicknamed "Cas," the good-natured Josh is known as the ladies man of the crew. His hobbies include wakeboarding, motocross, playing guitar and lifting weights.
