A multi-state serial killer who confessed to several murders in the Pacific Northwest left his bloody mark on a campground outside scenic Coeur D'Alene in May 2005. Joseph Edward Duncan III (pictured) bludgeoned to death Brenda Kay Groene, 40, her fiance Mark McKenzie, 37, and Groene's son Slade, 13. He kidnapped the two younger children, Dylan, 9, and Shasta, 8 (pictured). Dylan's remains were later found in Montana. Shasta was found with Duncan on July 2, 2005, after a waitress at Denny's restaurant recognized her from flyers.
