Boy, 2, Tests Positive for Meth
All in all this has been a tough week in Albuquerque meth-wise. Victoria Delgado (pictured) was arrested on January 3, 2011, after her husband picked up the children from her mother's house, and took the boy, 2, who seemed sick, to the hospital, where the boy tested positive for methamphetamine. When deputies arrived to arrest Delgado, they instead found convicted felon Leonard Lucero, 40, in possession of meth, a stolen car and a gun. They tracked down Delgado, arrested and charged her with child abuse.
On December 31, 2011, Juan Galindo was arrested for raping and killing his one-month-old daughter while high on meth. He is known for drug trafficking and was in the U.S. illegally, after having been deported once. He was watching the child for her mother while the woman went to a casino that morning. The 911 call led emergency personnel to believe that the child had choked while taking her bottle. Responders instead found brain bleeding, vaginal tearing and a lacerated liver. Sadly the four-week-old baby showed signs of prior abuse in her short life.
On December 30, Liesha Henderson, 31, was high on meth when she stabbed her son Elijah Jackson, 8, in the neck with a screwdriver. The child ran to neighbors for help, crying that he didn't want to die that day. Police came and dragged his mother away while she screamed, "I am God! I am God! Did I die today?" She was hospitalized. Click through for more Meth Madness
