On December 7, 2008, Rajini Narayan, 46, of Adelaide, Australia, found out that her husband was cheating on her and confronted him with it while he was in bed. She threatened to set him on fire, and he called her a "fat dumb bitch." So she doused him in gasoline and threw a lit candle on him. She would later tell a court, "I was going to purify his penis, leave a mark there, and he would remain with me. He would be mine." However, in her zeal to save her marriage, she used too much accelerant and burned down the house. Her husband lingered for a few days with burns over 75% of his body before dying. An Australian court convicted Narayan of manslaughter in October 2010.
