Oregon's Aunika Bennetti, 26, was crowned Miss Douglas County in 2007 after performing an impressive baton twirling routine at the Douglas County Scholarship Pageant. She won seven thousand dollars in scholarships, and as winner, promised to do charity work towards a cure for multiple sclerosis.
On October 2, 2011, Bennetti was arrested in a church parking lot and charged with unlawful heroin possession. Police approached the vehicle, which they deemed suspicious, and found Bennetti and 28-year-old Joseph Blake Cramer inside. Cramer turned out to have an outstanding warrant, and a search of the vehicle revealed a personal-use amount of heroin.
