Not much is known about the young woman whose body was discovered on the edge of a cornfield in rural Racine, Wisconsin. She had been murdered just hours before a man walking his dog discovered her just after 6 a.m. on July 21,1999. Cause of death was determined to be multiple injuries; she showed signs of torture.

On the evening of June 24th, 2005, gunshots rang out on La Mesa street in Yuma, Arizona. When police arrived, they found 35-year-old Luis Rios in the backyard, struggling to stay alive after suffering multiple gunshots. He died later at the hospital. Inside the house, police found five more victims, four of them children.

Unsolved Murder Spotlight: The Slidell Jane Doe

On June 19, 1986, the decomposed remains of a female victim were discovered in Lake Pontchartrain in Slidell, Louisiana. The victim is believed to have been 20-30 years of age at the time of death. She is believed to have been in the water, held down by a 22-pound weight tied to her neck, for 36 hours prior to discovery. Cause of death was determined to be homicide.

Unsolved Murder Spotlight: Shondra May

On February 4, 1986, 17-year-old Shondra May disappeared. Her ’85 Isuzu was found less than 100 yards away from her home in Scott County, Miss. A path of three footprints in the snow led out of the vehicle and then abruptly stopped. Three weeks later, on February 26, Shondra’s body was found, naked, bound with tape, and wrapped in garbage bags, floating in Baker Creek outside Bolton. It was her 18th birthday.

Unsolved Murder Spotlight: The Caledonia Jane Doe

On November 9, 1979, the body of a teenage girl was discovered by a motorist in Caledonia, New York. She was believed to have died the day prior, of brain hemorrhage resulting from a gunshot to the head.

Do You Recognize These People? Photographs Found in Serial Killer Rodney Alcala’s Storage Unit

In 1979, police in Seattle discovered a storage locker belonging to serial killer Rodney Alcala. Inside were over 100 photographs of women and children taken by Alcala. Police have released the photographs in hopes that the public can help identify the persons pictured. Unidentified Murder Victim: The Boy in the Box

The badly beaten body of this murder victim, 4-6 years old, the Boy in the Box, aka America’s Unknown Child, was found naked wrapped in a worn blanket (that had a green, white and rusty red block and diamond pattern), stuffed into a cardboard box that had once held a white bassinet purchased at JC Penney, and dumped in a garbage-filled area on Susquehanna Road in Philadelphia in February 1957.

Unsolved Murder Spotlight: The Clark County Jane Doe

In early 2008, police in Clark County, Nevada, received an anonymous letter that included maps of the area around US 93 & Boulder Highway. Police conducted a search and on January 23 discovered a woman’s skull.
