The Night Stalker’s Letter to a Fake Little Boy

In the 1990′s, writer and humorist Bill Geerhart began writing letters to celebrities, politicians and criminals under the guide of a young boy. An especially unsettling response to one of his letters came from serial killer Richard Ramirez, known as the Night Stalker.

In the spring of 1984, serial killer Richard Ramirez broke into the home of senior couple Harold and Jean Wu. Ramirez, nicknamed ‘Night Stalker,’ shot Mr. Wu, 66, in the head and then got to work on Mrs. Wu. He beat her, asking where they kept their money. When the distressed Mrs. Wu didn’t give him the answer he wanted, he bound her hands behind her back with these thumb cuffs and searched her house.

On August 30, 1985, “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez tried to steal a car, but was captured and beaten by a group of citizens who recognized his photo. Police rescued Ramirez from the angry mob by arresting him. He was charged with thirteen murders.
