On May 26, 1999, Katie Poirier was reported missing from the convenience store where she worked. Once the surveillance video was reviewed, police were able to put clues together to help discover that the abductor was Donald Blom.
Today in Crime History: Wife Testifies in Murder Trial of Repeat Sex Offender
On August 7, 2000, Amy Blom took the stand to testify for the defense in the trial of her husband, Donald Blom. Blom, a convicted sex offender with a history of kidnappings and sexual assaults, was accused of murdering 19-year-old Katie Poirier. Serving a life sentence for the murder, he is suspected of being a serial killer.
