What was billed as a weekend of supervised family fun at this Westfield, Mass., gun range turned into a family nightmare when 8 year old Christopher Bizilj accidently shot himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun. The owner of the range, former police chief Edward Fleury, was charged in Bizilj’s death.
A Detroit woman was fatally shot in the chest Sunday after hugging an off-duty police officer. According to Detroit police, Adaisha Miller was celebrating her 25th birthday a day early. She was dancing at a party when she came up to off-duty officer Issac Parrish attending the party and hugged him from behind. His holster gun discharged accidentally and shot Miller in the chest, piercing her lung and heart.
