Today in Crime History: Killer Granny Dorothea Puente Pleads Not Guilty

Dorothea Puente, a sweet-faced, grandmotherly lady became an infamous black widow who poisoned her frail, elderly boarders, took their money and buried the remains in the rose garden she so lovingly tended. She got away with murder for years. On March 31, 1989, she pleaded not guilty to nine counts of murder.
