Blom, a convicted sex offender with a history of kidnappings and sexual assaults, was accused of murdering 19-year-old Katie Poirier. Serving a life sentence for the murder, he is suspected of being a serial killer.
On June 18, 1999, a tip about a truck led investigators to Donald Hutchinson, aka Donald Blom, a repeat sex offender who had convictions for abducting petite young girls like missing Katie Poirier, and was apparently very adept at shifting identities and covering his tracks.
