A 35-year-old babysitter is accused of breaking the leg of a 13-year-old girl suffering from cerebral palsy. Police say Javier Rosales, from the Chicago suburb of Palatine, was watching the victim and her 12-year-old sister when he stomped on the victim’s leg as she lay on the floor.

An Ohio dad has been ordered to serve 29 days in jail after being captured on video mocking a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy. William Bailey, 43, pleaded no contest Tuesday to misdemeanor charges of menacing and disorderly conduct and will have to pay a $400 fine in addition to the jail term. The sentence handed down by the judge was the maximum possible for those charges.

A Toronto mother is facing a first-degree murder charge for the Feb. 21, 2011, death of her 16-year-old daughter Cynara Ali. She was originally charged with manslaughter and other charges, including criminal negligence. Now, more than a year and half since her daughter’s death, charges against Ali have been upgraded to first-degree murder.
