Carroll Edward Cole had a history of arrests for public drunkenness and other petty crimes. After an arrest on November 8, 1978 — while he was already on probation — Cole was let go yet again, to continue his murder spree for another two years.
On October 22, 1985, Nevada’s Supreme Court affirmed the death sentence of convicted serial killer Cole. Cole had resisted any attempts to file appeals on his behalf, but given his crimes, there weren’t that many people interested in helping the confessed murderer and cannibal.
