Robert Durst, an eccentric heir to a vast realty fortune, is no stranger to intrigue. His young wife disappeared in 1982, and a close friend who knew too much was found murdered nearly two decades later. Durst was questioned but let go in both cases. On January 28, 2002, Durst was extradited to Texas after being arrested for the murder of his elderly neighbor.
