Florida man David John Sirko, 51, is under arrest for violating a protection order by repeatedly entering the apartment of a woman he may have been stalking. Despite the restraining order, which was filed in mid-June, Sirko allegedly entered the woman’s home on several occasions, professing his undying devotion in disturbing ways.
On June 24, 2013, the victim summoned police after allegedly receiving a call from Sirko while driving home, in which she claims he said that he could see her. On arriving home she reportedly she found a can of peas on her doorstep with a note that simply said “Marry Me.”
The victim told police that despite the court order Sirko still calls her and enters her home; she insists that she ever gave him a key. According to the police report, the woman came home on one occasion to find Sirko lying on her couch wearing nothing but boxer shorts, on other occasions she claims to have come home to find his business cards with the words “I love you” written on them, and once she claims that he used her iPad to take photos of himself with her underwear on his head. Whatever the relationship may have been prior to the filing of the protection order is unclear.
Sirko is charged with one felony count of burglary and misdemeanor violation of a restraining order.
