Stick this one in the “well, that was easy” file. Last month, a Florida man suspected in a murder pocket-dialed 911 just as he was discussing the killing. During the call, which was, as are all 911 calls, recorded, Scott Simon was allegedly heard saying how he planned to follow victim Nicholas Walker home and shoot him. Unfortunately, police weren’t able to intercept the killing and Walker was gunned down while driving on I-95. After the shooting, police say his car crashed into a guardrail and burst into flames.
Police believe Simon coordinated the shooting with another man, repeat offender Ronel Desinor, 27. It’s alleged that the incident began with an argument at a local Waffle House on May 5. Police say Simon was the “mastermind,” while Desinor drove and fired at Walker.
Desinor was arrested this week; both men are charged with murder. The case is still being investigated and police say there is another person they may want to speak with. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Bryan Tutler at 954-321-4281 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477.
