Though lesser known than Bundy and Dahmer, the story of serial killer Ottis Toole is no less terrifying. He’s known for confessing to the murder of Adam Walsh, whose father John Walsh became a prominent anti-crime advocate as the host of America’s Most Wanted following his son’s death. Toole was also the depraved sidekick of Henry Lee Lucas, a killer who confessed to killing 100 people but then recanted. After meeting in a Jacksonville soup kitchen, Lucas and Toole became lovers and together drifted around the American south, allegedly committing dozens of murders. Toole was already a killer before he met Lucas, with a penchant for corpse mutilation, cannibalism, necrophilia and arson. While in prison, Toole confessed to a number of murders before dying of liver failure. He remains a suspect in several unsolved homicides.
Below is Toole’s recipe for a concoction that doubles as BBQ sauce and “Spegetti” sauce. Note the main ingredient.
