In our latest installment of “Good Idea? Bad Idea!” Florida teen Kimani Parker decided to settle-up with WalMart regarding a sum of money he owed for having shoplifted from that retailer, good idea! However, he decided the best way to get the money was to rob a bunch of stuff and sell it for cash, bad idea!

According to the police report Parker was seen by a neighbor at around 6 a.m. on March 13, 2013, with a friend walking down the street pushing an air conditioner in a wheelbarrow. The neighbor saw the youths enter a nearby home and leave with the AC unit and identified Parker for police. Officers caught up with Parker at his home and asked if he knew why they were there. Parker responded, “possibly because of the air-conditioner unit.” The police report explains that Parker “has a civil obligation and owed Walmart $200.00.” At first Parker sadi that he “took an air conditioner from a friend’s residence with his permission.” When asked who had accompanied him he said, “nobody.”

Then he told investigators that he wasn’t sure of the address, but that he did have a friend’s mother’s permission to take the unit, adding that when he saw cops, he panicked and hid the AC unit in the woods. When asked by police to show them the house where he had gotten the AC unit, Parker fessed up and said that he and his friend Kyle DeJesus  had selected a random residence and stolen the unit.

Police retrieved the stolen items and arrested both Parker and DeJesus for burglary of an unoccupied residence, grand theft and criminal mischief. Parker was held on a $5,500 bond — and he still owes Walmart $200.
