It is not unusual for people to attempt to hide weapons in the lockup, but when they are hidden internally, most choose not to carry loaded firearms.
Christie Dawn Harris was arrested in Ada, Oklahoma, on March 4, 2013, at about 3:45 a.m. after a search of the rental car in which she was a passenger turned up a ziplock bag containing a “white crystal type substance,” according to the police report, “a small ziplock baggie containing several pills, a Marlboro case containing 8 empty clear ziplock baggies, several empty pink ziplock baggies, and two empty ziplock baggies with dogs printed on them,” were also found. There was also a hypodermic needle and a Raven Arms 25-caliber semi-automatic pistol under a the passenger with the loaded magazine stored in the glove compartment.
The two female passengers were arrested and taken to jail. On arrival at the lockup a further search of Ms. Harris was conducted by a female officer. When asked to lower her underwear, however, Harris told the woman that she was “on her period and didn’t want to.” When the officer said it was necessary to check for contraband, Harris complied, at which time the officer saw “a wooden and metal item sticking out from her vagina area.”
The officer retrieved the item, which turned out to be a 5-shot revolver — loaded. Harris also had two baggies of “a large amount of a crystal substance” stashed in her butt crack. She faces felony weapons and narcotics charges.
