Jeremy Wiseman was arrested while out picketing, holding up a large sign protesting police harassment in Mesa, Arizona. Remarkably his constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech was not infringed by police, even though Wiseman bears a striking resemblance to Unabomber Ted Kaczynski. When police, however, got a report that Wiseman had become aggressive, they sprang into action.

When they confronted Wiseman, officers noticed for the first time that his sign post was actually a rifle. When he refused to drop it, Wiseman was stunned by police, who checked, and yes, the rifle was loaded too. Wiseman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and making threats, and carted off the jail just in time for Valentine’s Day 2013.
