Is That a Finger in Your Chili or Are You Just a Big Liar?

Anna Ayala. Police photo.

Remember when that lady found a finger in her Wendy’s chili? Well, in case you missed it, she made the whole thing up. After Wendy’s offered $100,000 for information leading to the finger’s origins, it turned out that the digit belonged to a coworker of Anna Ayala’s husband. The man had lost a piece of his finger during an accident at his paving job, and Ayala decided to use his loss as an opportunity for financial gain. After her scheme came to light, Ayala dropped her lawsuit against Wendy’s.

Now, the California woman has been caught in another big lie. Ayala is charged with being an accessory to a felony and filing a false police report for allegedly covering up for her son. According to police, her 26-year-old son, Guadalupe Reyes, shot himself in he ankle with a gun he wasn’t supposed to have while on parole. Police say Ayala reported that her son was shot while chasing a dog, and gave descriptions of his alleged attackers.

Ayala has a history of heavy fibbing. Before the Wendy’s debacle, she claimed to have successfully sued chicken chain El Pollo Loco for $30, 000 after her daughter got sick from their food. El Pollo Loco says this never happened. Ayala has also been arrested on charges of real estate fraud for allegedly selling a mobile home that wasn’t hers.
