The manhunt for ex-LAPD officer Chris Dorner may be coming to an end. Dorner is suspected of killing at least three people, including a police officer. Dorner, who was fired from the police force, posted a manifesto on Facebook vowing to kill those who have wronged him. According to the manifesto, Dorner was fired after reporting a fellow officer to internal affairs for excessive force. He says he was wrongfully terminated for crossing the ‘Blue Line.’ In the 11,000-word text, Dorner wrote, “Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That’s what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name.”
Today, officers caught up with Dorner in Big Bear mountain, where two officers were reportedly injured in the gunfight that ensued.
During the hunt for Dorner, police mistakenly opened fire on two occupants of a truck that somewhat fit the description of Dorner’s vehicle. The two victims of that shooting were a mother and daughter who were delivering newspapers. The daughter was only hit with broken glass, but the 71-year-old mother was shot twice in the back and had to be transported to an ICU.
A third person was shot at while police were searching for Dorner. David Perdue was on his way to go surfing when cops allegedly opened fire at his pickup. He did not suffer any gunshot wounds but did reportedly sustain a concussion.
