There’s a new addition to the ever-growing “Lamest Motive for Murder” file. Three men in Antioch, Ca., have been charged with the murder of 32-year-old Jose Hernandez, who they accused of stealing laundry from the laundry room. The kicker is that (surprise, surprise) they were wrong.
The Contra Costa Times reports that Jeremy Griffin and Boise Duggan, both 24, discovered their clothes missing from the Delta Pines apartment complex laundry room on November 14. Police say Griffin, Duggan and a third man, Johntue Hinds, 28, went to an apartment where they thought they’d find their clothes. The three suspects and the people inside the apartment got into an argument, and Hernandez wound up dead of a gunshot wound. He was not involved in the theft of the clothes, police said.
All three men are charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Griffin and Duggan, both felons, were also charged with being felons in possession of a firearm.
