A 15-year-old Jacksonville, Fla., girl called police Saturday, telling them that her father was holding a man down in the yard. According to an officer, ”the [girl] was seated in the living room when she saw a silhouette outside the back window” and told her dad, who ran outside to confront the creepy peeper.
When police arrived, the dad was holding James K. Lowery, 60, in the backyard. The police report mentions that ”the suspect had minor injuries due to the complainant confronting him,” evidenced by the mean shiner seen in Lowery’s mugshot.
The dad told police that his family had noticed someone looking into their home on several occasions, and had previously found damage to their window screens. Lowery, a neighbor of the family, reportedly admitted to drinking a whole bottle of wine and had no explanation for what he was doing in their yard. He has been charged with trespassing with intent to commit an offense, public intoxication and resisting an officer without violence.
