A Jennings, Mo., man was arrested on September 10, 2012, after arguing with his uncle and allegedly shooting him fatally over dinner. It seems that John Cunningham, 43, was visiting his uncle, Lessie E. Lowe, 44, for a delicious pork dinner, when they started to argue over what cut of pork they were cooking: pork chops or pork steaks. Cunningham reportedly said they were pork steaks, while Lowe, it seems, insisted that they were pork chops. Neither man let it go, and by 1 a.m. the argument had reportedly gotten physical. A third person had to separate Lowe and Cunningham. That’s when Cunningham went to another room in the house, got a shotgun, and shot Lowe, who died later at a local hospital. Cunningham was arrested and held without bond. He is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
On investigation it turns out that Cunningham was right, they were pork steaks.
