
He is a member of the Cleveland Press Club's Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame. He has been a reporter for more than 40 years. He was with the Cleveland Press from 1957 to 1980, winning such awards as a $5,000 first prize in the Media Awards for the Advancement of Economic Understanding and the Brotherhood Award of the National Association of Christians and Jews.
As a free-lance writer since 1980, he has won Excellence in Journalism awards from the Cleveland Press Club in both newspaper columns (for the Elyria Chronicle) and radio commentary (as a media critic for WGAR-AM), and has appeared in publications ranging from the Chronicle of Higher Education to The River Burns and from USA Today to the Daily Item of Sunbury, PA.
