Chris Webber calls a timeout that he doesn't have in the National Championship (1993)
North Carolina is up 73-71 with 19 seconds to go. And then a string of insanity begins. Michigan's Chris Webber grabs a rebound off a missed free throw...and then travels. But the referees don't call it. Even the announcers scream, "He walked! He walked and the referee missed it!" Webber then dribbles the ball upcourt, and before the booth can even say that, "they have no timeouts remaining," Webber calls a timeout that the team didn't have. He's assessed a technical foul and North Carolina wins, 77-71. Karma for the non-call on the traveling violation is properly meted out.
