Butler's Buzzer Beater Bounces Out (2010)

Everybody remembers the buzzer-beaters that win games, but what about those heart-wrenching moments when they just miss? That's what happened to Butler's Gordon Hayward in 2010, who had the opportunity to slay the big blue giant Duke in the final moments of the 2010 championship game. Hayward, with just 3.6 seconds left on the clock, trailing by two, put up a half-court shot that seemed to have eyes. The nation held its breath, the ball rimmed out, Butler lost, and a nation of Duke-haters watched their nemesis celebrate their fourth national title.
