Dumb Rip-Offs Of Popular Teen Books
Dumb Rip-Offs Of Popular Teen Books
It's no secret that when something sells, everyone is going to try and cash in on it. And with the boom of Twilight, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games, it seems like if you want to get a kids book made in this competitive market, the main character had better wear round glasses or be an angst-ridden vampire. Sadly enough, even the classics aren't safe! Older books like Frankenstein are not exactly whimsically magical adventures, but that doesn't stop publishers from making their covers look like a Harry Potter book.
And with the hyper-popular Hunger Games finding success in print and film, don't be surprised if you start seeing printings of Pride and Prejudice a big, flaming metallic "P" on the cover (although, I'd probably be a little more excited to read that book if I though Elizabeth Bennet would be hunting Mr. Darcy with a bow and arrow throughout a dystopian England).
