Nolan Daniels -- A Rich Hoax

Nolan Daniels was able to get more than 450,000 people to share this picture of him holding a $588 million-winning Powerball ticket on Facebook. He did so by convincing them he would give a million bucks to a random stranger that shared it. Not surprisingly, it turned out to be an elaborate hoax. Why would lottery players put so much faith on the off-chance of winning some money?
