1907: The Old Hidden Ball Trick
In Game 2, the Cubs' Jimmy Slagle walked, stole second and ended up on third after a wild throw. The Detroit's Bill Coughlin likely faked a throw back to the mound, and when Slagle took his lead, the Tiger calmly produced the ball and tagged him out. Coughlin pulled off the trick seven times in his career, believed to be a Major League record.
