Some cultures believe that rhino horns are a miracle cure for cancer... but rhinos are unquestionably an endangered species. In February of 2012, seven people in L.A., New Jersey, and New York were charged with trafficking in black rhinoceros horns. Thirty-seven horns were seized along with $2 million in cash, gold, and jewelry. According to the World Wildlife Fund, rhino poaching has risen in Africa recently, with 448 rhinoceros were killed by poachers in 2011 alone, primarily for their horns, which are in high demand in Vietnam. The WWF says, "Rhinos are being targeted by sophisticated poaching networks with money, connections and no scruples."
