The Lottery Is Cursed
Lucien Nault
In 2009, 77 year-old Canadian Lucien Nault, a retired cab driver, hit the U.K. jackpot, winning $16.9 million. Nault promised to "spoil his family," but just months later, his wife left him. Then his son Daniel's wife, Therese, was found drowned accidentally in her dream pool, which was built with money given to her and Daniel by Lucien. Three weeks later, Daniel was struck and killed by a car as he chased after his dog.
