Colorful Honey Is Made Of M&Ms
Green, blue and neon yellow honey may sound like the hot foodie gift of the season but the phenomenon has meant nothing but disappointment and lost money for beekeepers in France. A small town in Alsace found their bees creating brightly hued honey this season.
The bees weren't exploring their artistic side — they had been consuming colorful M&M waste that was being recycled at a nearby biogas plant, which has moved the bee-friendly waste indoors. The colorful honey has been deemed unusable by French culinary standards.
