Nixon in '92

NPR shocked its normally staid left-leaning listeners by announcing in 1992 on Talk of the Nation that disgraced former President Richard Nixon was running for the White House once again. Carrying audio clips of Nixon delivery his candidacy announcements, Tricky Dick revealed the slogan for his new run was "I didn't do anything wrong, and I won't do it again." Only in the second half of the show was it revealed that comedian Rich Little provided "Nixon's" voice and the entire candidacy was fake.
