2011 has been a big year for apocalypse theorists. In the first five months of the young year we've seen a devastating quake and tsunami in Japan, violent public revolutions in Egypt and Libya and a rash of flooding and tornados at home.

Doomsday prophesiers will tell us the end of days are clearly upon us... and that there is no greater evidence of this than the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Since the announcement of Bin Laden's demise, doomsday forums have been buzzing with references to both the Bible and the prophecies of Nostradamus, the 16th century French seer. Together, these sources make eerie and undeniable connections between Osama's death and the long-awaited biblical apocalypse. Most perplexing is how the two texts coalesce when it comes to the Seven Seals prophecy, the famed scroll which describes the timeline of mankind's final days.

The Seventh Seal

According to Revelations, the breaking of the seventh seal will mark the worst reign of terror and destruction ever witnessed, all perpetrated on behalf of evil by Satan and two earthly aids, the Beast from the Sea, known as the Antichrist and the Beast from the Land, or The False Prophet. These three biblical figures make up what is known as the "Unholy Trinity," the ultimate evil empire on earth.

First Two Antichrists of Nostradamus

Nostradamus also talks about three depraved figures that would seduce the public and come to wreak havoc on mankind, labeling them each as the antichrist. Scholars have long suggested the first antichrist to be Napoleon, referred to in Nostradamus' anagram Pau, Nay, Loron and accurately predicted that "an Emperor shall be born near Italy. Who shall cost the Empire dear." Nostradamus prophesied the rise of Hitler, his second antichrist, whose name is cloaked in yet another anagram, "Hister," who "with his tongue shall seduce many people" and would "come to tyrannize the land" and "raise up a hatred that had long been dormant."
