In December 1980, US Air Force personnel based in England encountered a triangular-shaped metallic UFO that had landed in a clearing in Rendlesham Forest. Witnesses included their Deputy Base Commander. After the sighting, the Ministry of Defense's (MoD's) Defense Intelligence Staff assessed radiation levels at the landing site as being "significantly higher than background."
