Many Redheads Are Witches
During the Spanish Inquisition, red hair was viewed as evidence of allegiance with the devil and redheads were sometimes burned at the stake across early modern Europe just by virtue of their hair color. A ginger's fair skin could also lead one to be identified as a witch — prolonged sun exposure led to more freckles or moles (a.k.a. "devil's marks), but covering up could lead to Vitamin D deficiency and its symptoms: osteoporosis and tooth loss. These, unfortunately, could also be signs of witchiness.
