Black History Month Rumors, Myths And Conspiracies

Today, nearly 150 years after the end of the Civil War, many blacks in American still live as second-class citizens. In 2011, when the nationwide unemployment rate was at 9%, the rate for blacks was 16%. A black man is statistically likely to earn $10,000 less per year than his white counterpart. Though blacks make up only 13% of the total U.S. population, they account for over 35% of the U.S. prison population.

Many have speculated about conspiracies against blacks in the United States. Much of it stems from racism, of course, but these myths, rumors and true conspiracies indicate even deeper issues...
