They may not be your favorite band, but they are among the only newer ones to have a "great" conspiracy theory, according to the Telegraph. The #1 single "Viva La Vida" has been the subject of countless rumors, especially regarding its authorship. Three separate artists — Joe Satriani, Cat Stevens and the band Creaky Boards — have claimed that Coldplay "stole" the melody from a song of theirs. (Coldplay denied the allegations and convincingly proved that most of the cases were mere coincidences, although they did settle with Satriani for an undetermined amount.)
