Stewart David Nozette, a prominent NASA scientist and defense analyst, was arrested by the FBI in 2009. While being investigated for falsifying government expense reports, the FBI discovered an email Nozette sent to an undisclosed recipient which stated he would gladly spy for a foreign country at the right price. FBI spooks posing as Israeli Mossad agents contacted Nozette, and were handed classified information-- just like that. Nozette plead guilty to a charge of espionage and was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison spying for Israel... even though the Israelis never recruited him.
