The Beirut Pizza Hut Spy Ring
A major U.S. spy ring was allegedly busted in Beirut in 2011 after Hezbollah, the organization they were supposed to be spying on, discovered that the ring was regularly lunching with its CIA employers at a Pizza Hut. In fact, whenever the CIA wanted to meet its paid informants, it would send them the code word "PIZZA." Asked about the meeting location, a CIA spokeswoman sniffed: "We do not discuss operational activities." Was it the free breadsticks?
