Arizona — Russell Pearce

The state legislator behind the law allowing police to request identification from suspected illegal aliens was ousted in a recall election, the first successful one in state history. The vote was a wake-up call for Pearce, controversial Governor Jan Brewer, and other politicians who made Arizona appear like a bigoted, police-state. (Meanwhile, several members of opponent Olivia Cortes's campaign team are currently under indictment for fraud, having been accused of running Cortes as a fake candidate to split the anti-Pearce voting bloc.)
