19. Jeffrey Wigand
Lucky enough to be played by Oscar winner Russell Crowe in the movie The Insider, Wigand has not had much other luck in his life. A former VP of research and development at Brown & Williamson, a cigarette company with brands such as Kool and Pall-Mall, Wigand blew the whistle on the company's decision to increase the nicotine content in their cigarettes and thus make them more addictive. Wigand came forward in 1996 and, coincidentally or not, has since received many death threats for "hurting" corporations.
