In 1963, Newsweek reported a rumor that Dylan didn't write "Blowin' in the Wind" (his only hit at that point), but instead stole it from a New Jersey high school student. The singer took the article complained to a reporter, "Man, they're out to kill me." The truth turned to be that the student had read the sheet music well before the song was published, performed it at a school assembly and tried to claim it as his own.
