MYTH: The "One"
Haven't found the love of your life? Good news: there is no love of your life. With a worldwide population of seven billion and counting, the idea that people who fall in love and get married (and possibly divorced) have met their one soulmate is as naive as spending your paycheck on scratch tickets. The good news is that there's not someone out there for you — depending on your sexual orientation, there might be between 500,000 and 3 billion people who might be interested. Still, nearly 44% of the U.S. population over 18 is unmarried and about 40% of them are divorced -- the rest have never wed.
